Off-campus Calls (Local and Long-Distance) You will need your Personal Billing Number (PBN) to call an off-campus number. Dial 9 to access an outside line, then dial the full number you want to call. (You need to dial the area code for local calls to Maryland or Virginia.) After you dial the number, you will hear a series of tones followed by a dial tone. Dial your PBN to complete the call. For example:
Since long-distance and other toll calls are billed to your PBN, you can place them from any on-campus phone. Speed Dial Popular off-campus phone numbers are included in a student speed dial list. Just dial *8 and the 3 digit speed dial code from any residence hall phone; you do not need to enter your PBN. PAETEC Calling Card When you are away from campus, you can use your PBN as a calling card. Charges will come back to your PAETEC bill.
